About the Ayurveda Immersion Training

Part immersion, part training, all authentic Ayurveda!

The program of study for the 220-hour Immersion is designed to promote an emerging awareness of Ayurvedic medicine, philosophy, and psychology, and to help participants see its applicability in their life. To create a solid foundation, we expose students to both Ayurvedic anatomy and western anatomy, while building off key-conceptual paradigms of classic Ayurvedic practice: the Five Great Elements (Pancha Mahabhutas), the Three Energies (doshas), Attributes (gunas), and the concept of balance. The intention is to provide each student the building blocks needed to understand how they can promote healthy practices within their lives and the lives of those around them.

Essentially, we give you the building blocks you need to create personalized lifestyle practices, encourage you to to implement them daily, notice the tangible results, and take back your health! And, if you ever need a place to return to and reset, we’re always here to support you.

Our training program is geared towards personalization and helping you to achieve the goals you have for your health. To ensure this is a priority, we have created My Wellness Plan, a guided approach to making real progress on your health and wellness goals. My Wellness Plan starts on our opening retreat and continues throughout your time in the program. At its foundation is a a series of personalized wellness sessions with an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner who will help you define your goals, create a tailored plan for making progress, and check in periodically to provide support and make adjustments.

To compliment your personal sessions with a Councilor, we have designed a guided wellness experiences specifically for this training that include traditional yoga sessions, meditation programming, mindful moments, and pranayama exercises (breath-work).

Our intention is through these diverse experiences, participants can hone in on select practices that they would like to integrate daily into lives for the duration of the training, creating a sadhana (daily wellness routine). These components combined- supportive practice, personalized wellness consultations, tracking your efforts- make up My Wellness Plan, helping participants to experience the training actively.

Unique Hybrid Learning Model

Our goal is to create community, provide an authentic experience of Indian Culture and give you the opportunity to integrate Ayurveda into your life. To do so, we have designed our program that allows extensive remote participation, while not sacrificing the value add of in-person retreat for grounding and connecting with others.

In our Hybrid model, participants join us in beautiful southern Vermont at Setu during the opening and closing retreats, allowing time to connect with teachers and each-other, deepening learning by creating a strong community. During these sessions onsite, participants have full access to instructors, facilities, as well as treatments.

During our remote learning sessions, students have a variety of opportunities to engage with material and teachers in unique ways. We offer three types of remote sessions which include: lecture & discussion classes; mentor sessions; and cooking demonstrations.

As a special addition, we include a 6-week therapeutic yoga series that runs in tandem with coursework, allowing participants to understand how these two systems are interconnected, working with the mind and body through physical practice.

Setu was my first experience with Ayurveda, and they made it very accessible to me. I would recommend this to anyone looking for natural and sustainable ways to improve their health. -M.W.
